Summer Band
Camp for Middle School Students
Summer band camp is offered to middle school students
beginning mid June until mid August. Camp usually meets on Wednesday’s and
Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Wednesday’s are the main days and
Thursdays are a make-up or optional day. Band camp ends with a concert and
celebration in August and an invitation to play with the West Catholic Marching
Band in the bleachers during a September football game.
High School Band Camp
All students that are
signed up for Band at West Catholic (including incoming freshmen) are required to attend a one week summer
camp at the West Catholic campus. This is always the last full week in July and
runs for 5 days from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Students will learn to march and
prepare their performance for the first football game.
Before school starts, students will perform their routines for parents/guardians. We also
have a potluck at this time to celebrate band camp and do some Band Booster
planning for the approaching school year.
After band camp students
are required to meet every Monday evening until late October from 6:30-8:30 to
improve their marching performance and learn new music.
