before events marked *. Changes in arrival times will
be announced to students and parents as events approach.
Underlined Events are the most important of the year and
cannot be excused with the exception of serious
conflicts, I.E. severe illness or death in the family.
If excused, all events are to be made up via Mr.
LaPrise.

All
events have been scheduled to the best of our ability.
In the event of change, updates will be given to
students in class and parents via e-mail. There will be
a separate jazz band schedule given to jazz band
students at the first rehearsal in Sept. The same
applies to those students playing in the musical’s pit
orchestra. Parents, please make your child responsible
for his or her own schedule. It is their responsibility
to know when and where events are taking place. Please
quiz them on information throughout the year, so that
you can start relying on them to know times, places,
dress etc. After all, when they leave the comforts of
WC and your home, they will not have anyone but
themselves to keep track. Let’s work together to teach
them this lesson in high school; there are painful
lessons they will learn later if we do not teach them
this skill now. When they get their sports schedules,
please have them highlight band conflicts so that they
can resolve any issues in advance. Reasonable conflicts
can always be worked out, but must be in advance. We
will teach them this on the first day of band camp and
continue to teach this throughout the year.
If
you get the chance, please check out many of the
performances listed above. It has been my experience
that your children want you there more than you know,
even if they tell you different. Plus, you will
thoroughly enjoy their musical work and progress
throughout the year. I am looking forward to a
wonderful 2011/2012 school year!
